Why we need standby generators
September 29th, 2009 by admin
The concept of standby generator is really simple. They are usually installed outside the premises and operated by an engine which runs on diesel, natural gas or liquid propane gas. Most of these generators are connected to natural gas line or liquid propane gas tank and generates electricity as long as fuel is supplied. These standby generators, unlike the portable ones, operate automatically without any human intervention. Such generators require no cords for connection neither does it require any gas tank to fill. Whenever there is power failure, the automatic transmission switch turns on the generator which automatically switches off when power is restored.
