If you want to lose weight, then it is very important that you do not intentionally skip breakfast. Many dieters make the mistake of skipping breakfast because they believe that by delaying eating for as long as possible, you will lose more weight quickly. However, by not eating breakfast, you are actually making weight loss more difficult and are undermining the process. Ironically, you need to eat in order to accelerate your body’s metabolism. (Metabolism is the rate at which food is converted into energy. Faster metabolism means less food is being stored as fat on your body.) So when you wake up first thing in the morning, your metabolism is slow because your body has been resting all night. But in order to turbocharge your metabolism for the day, you need to ptu food in your body. Also, if you wait too long to have breakfast in the morning and you are starving and very hungry, you might make an irrational decision and overeat or eat the wrong foods, when you finally do get around to eating.
