How to Register a Vehicle That is a Family Transfer

A vehicle title can be transferred from one family member to another such as a spouse, parent, or child, to name a few. This type of transfer is different than a transfer between a dealership and a customer or a private owner and a buyer. In a family transfer, smog certification is not required, providing that the registration is current. Tax is exempt between all family members except siblings. There is no reclassification fee.  The CA DMV registration does require that the title be signed properly. That there is a fact statement for use of the exempt on taxes and smog certification. That the transfer fee is paid and that the odometer reading is disclosed on vehicles less than ten years old. Further CA DMV must be notified within five  days that the transfer has taken place and a transfer notice and liability release needs to be completed. At the time of the transfer, a transfer fee is due and if the registration renewal is due, registration fees will be due.

Affordable Car Windshield Replacement

I borrowed my Dad’s car a couple of weeks ago. When I parked it in my garage a toolbox that was on a high shelf landed on the windshield and broke it. I needed to get it replaced fast and perfectly. My Mom Came to Visit

My mom lives in Florida and came to visit me in Virginia.  When she retired and moved she bought herself the sweetest Porsche you have ever seen.  While she was here visiting the check engine light came on and she had to take it to a place that did Porsche repairs in Virginia.  It turned out to be a simple fix and they got her in and out of there with no problem.  We toured around the whole state in her car and had a blast.  She left to go home yesterday and has not had any more issues with her car.

I love My New Car

I just got my new car! The car drives amazingly well and I love the CD player! I often take long trips for work, so the CD player comes in handy. I searched hard to find the right car, and when I found it, I hoped that I could afford the payments. I spoke with my lender about Car Credit and found out that I could afford the car. You should have seen me jumping for joy at the car dealership. I was so proud of myself. When I drove off the car lot I was honking my horn all the way home!
