Car Insurance Policy Summary-Keyed Car

I live in a block of flats which has no gated parking so all the residents have to park out on the road. For years this hasn’t been a problem until recently when people’s cars started to be keyed. The police were called but there wasn’t really a lot they could do initially as no one had seen it being done. The vandalism kept happening sporadically over a period of 8 months and it was costing the residents a fortune. When most people spoke to the car insurance companies about it they were sympathetic and were paying out to get the cars fixed but people still had to pay their policy excesses for something that wasn’t their fault. In the end all the residents chipped in for some CCTV and suddenly the vandalism stopped which was a massive relief. It is just a shame that people feel they have to damage the property of others in the first place.
