Traditions in Marriage
February 8th, 2010 by admin
Turkish wedding ceremonies differ quite a bit from American ones, and we plan to combine the best of both. We won’t have a wedding party, but we will have witnesses. InTurkish weddings, the bride and groom will walk down the aisle without any preamble, but are accompanied with brilliant fireworks, then sit down at a table and sign a marriage contract. For our wedding, we’d like a little more ritual than that. Both Turkish and American weddings highlight the bride and groom’s first dance, but afterward we’ll visit each guest and collect gold coins, Turkey style. We’re thrilled and feel very, very incredibly lucky to have an immensely talented and funny photographer flying in for just the occasion, to photograph our wedding with her highly acclaimed new york wedding photojournalism approach.
